Extremely random quote
…on the masonry of that charnel shore that was not of earth the titan Thing from the stars slavered and gibbered like Polypheme cursing the fleeing ship of Odysseus.

Tonight, I went to the Seattle Blogger Meetup for the first time. I met 8-bit Jake, and introduced myself as “SarekOfVulcan from Wikipedia”. Anita Rowland was there as well, with grandson R—- in tow. Jake interviewed her and tried to interview R—- as well, but he just clammed up when presented with the mike. :-) I also spoke to a couple of other people whose names I will remember when the official report gets posted.
Last night, I was out walking with Ael to Dairy Queen after her class concert at school, when I pointed out the sign to her. “Look, Ael, they’re hiring Popcorn Shrimp!” “Daddy, that’s two different messages!”
In the comments to my post about the C-5s in Bangor, Martin was kind enough to link to a picture of the sort I had requested.
If anyone out there is expecting one of our Christmas letters, I’ll try to get them out before Independence Day…

One of the brightest-shining ideals of Freemasonry is that men of different faiths and backgrounds can work together as brothers in common service to humanity and to God, by whatever name they may call him.
Unfortunately, there are those members who don’t believe in that ideal, just as there are non-Masons who believe that “…[it] is unthinkable in the light of Scripture, that a man of another religious faith is a spiritual brother with a Christian…”. The “Widow’s Son” blogs about his encounter with some of these brothers.
