OPTOUTPRESCREEN.COM

Are you tired of getting unsolicited credit card applications in the mail? Well, there’s a way to stop them. The various credit reporting agencies have banded together on a site called “OptOutPrescreen.com”. When I found out about this site, I wanted to put my info in, but I wasn’t sure that I wasn’t the victim of a fishing expedition. So, I went to the various credit sites. I couldn’t find it linked from Experian. I couldn’t find it linked from Equifax. Finally, I found a link from Trans-Union.

I’m intentionally not linking directly to the site, since, if you actually care about this, you won’t want to click a random link. Even if you do trust me. :-)

Thanks to Orcmid for the link, and to SeaBlogs for pointing me there.

Hmmm…

Wonder if that ranking had anything to do with accidentally posting the quote three times. :-)

Google and page rank

Oh, come on, this can’t be right….

We’ve been attacked!

“We’ve been attacked…

…by the intelligent, educated segment of the culture.”

Creationism at its finest.

MSDN Less-Universal

Ted Roche points to a recent entry by Eric Sink of SourceGear about Visual Studio Team System. MSDN Universal subscribers apparently will not be getting a server license for Team System for free.

In the article, Eric raises some interesting points about the licensing of MSDN that bear re-checking if you’re a subscriber.

What do you do when your brakes go out on a steep hill?

Well, if you’re this guy, you run a bunch of red lights without hitting anyone, miss a loaded Metro bus, and then flip the truck in the middle of the block while narrowly missing pedestrians.

And the best thing about the story is that he was a mechanic checking the truck out for steering problems. :-)

Burn, Baby, Burn

John Porcaro and matches apparently do not mix well.

Thanks to Scoble for pointing this out. I really should actually read my bloglines page once in a while…

Feedmap

Chandu Thota has been running something he called “BlogMap” for some time now. He just made some major changes and moved the project to its own site: FeedMap.net.

One of the new features he added is the “BlogMap Badge”: check out the bottom of my blogroll to see how I relate to other local bloggers.

“Attend the play of Sweeney Todd…”

“…The notes are weird and the scansion odd

The chords, bizarre beyond mortal ken,

Can never thereafter be picked out again…”

Vixyish nailed this pretty well. I haven’t yet performed in it, but maybe some day… :-)
