I just updated my bookstore with links to the Joss Whedon series Firefly, Angel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you want to watch them in the same order I did, start with Firefly to see what Joss is capable of, even with only half a season to work with.

If you like that, you can backtrack to the Buffyverse. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 stand alone. After the 3rd season, Angel moved to LA and got his own show, which aired for two years immediately following Buffy, allowing some plot lines to cross between shows. After Season 5, Buffy moved to UPN, and ended after two more years.

Angel had one more season afterwards. While Buffy ended the story (sort of) at the end of Season 7, Angel had a more ambigous ending.

Or at least, so I hear. :-) I watched all of Buffy, but am only now getting to the third season of Angel.
