For all Jacqueline Mackie Paisley Passey for Washington Secretary of State. She’s the only one of the three candidates openly supporting Instant Runoff Voting, which seems to me to be the best way to vote for whom you feel would do the best job, rather than holding your nose and voting for one candidate because you’re afraid the other one will win.
Besides, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard both of the others refer to “my opponent” in political ads. Note the singular. If they don’t know who they’re running against, do we want them running the elections in the state? (I could be wrong on this: I haven’t heard these ads lately.)
Update: Oops, I forgot the other big reason I was supporting her: she feels, as I do, that it is absolutely critical that there be a voter-verified paper trail for any electronic voting machines. It’s way too easy to hack computers to show the vote totals you want.
Well, we started off the Halloween festivities by swinging by Laura’s place to take advantage of her kind offer. We did have to hesitate when we saw the sign by the walkway, though….
From there, we headed up to Country Village for the first half of the Bothell Safe Halloween. After browsing around there for a bit, we headed to Downtown Bothell for the second half. Featured there were Olson Design’s annual “gemstone” giveaway, and a consulting company that set their office up as a miniature haunted house.

“She’s hotter than a bug wrapped up in its blanket! She’s hotter than the moonlight!”
Uh-oh, guess Kerry’s really in trouble now.
Guess Jon Stewart was right about the media.
You know you’re a geek when:
a) You’ve drunk enough caffeine to still be up this late.
b) You’re tired enough so that you think this time means that you should be in bed instead of sitting in front of your computer.
Minor apologies to Tom Smith for the post title. :-)
My contract is going to be up in a couple of months. Anyone planning on hiring VFP programmers in December? :-)
Heather Hamilton, a Senior Marketing Recruiter at Microsoft, promises that if she sees your “blog resume” in a referral, she’ll review it.
That’s one way to bring the hit count up. :-)
Huh. It would appear I’m losing readers like crazy. Am I getting boring or something?
