MakeMeAdmin
Aaron Margosis writes a blog about running with the least possible privilege on your desktop — in other words, so the virus you catch doesn’t get admin rights to the machine. Recently, he wrote and posted an incredibly useful utilitity: MakeMeAdmin. It lets you run as a limited user most of the time, but can escalate you to Admin on request, so that the install sets everything up on the right account.
I highly recommend you look into this.
