Implications of the Public Domain

I mentioned earlier that Cory Doctorow had posted his speech to Microsoft about DRM and explicitly placed it in the public domain. Jason Kottke has read the speech and put it up as a BitTorrent file, placing it under the same license as the original post. I’m downloading as we speak/type. :-)

Ken Levy blog

Cory on Digital Rights Management

Cory Doctorow published his speech on DRM to Microsoft on his site, under a Creative Commons public domain license. He makes a compelling case for letting consumers do what they want with their property, instead of letting publishers invent new rights for themselves.
