“I’m not dead yet!”

Various people around the web have been claiming that RSS would essentially replace email. Ed Brill argues that this isn’t close to happening yet, and he links to 22 reasons supporting the case.

One of the things he argues is that at the moment, RSS has an element of trust behind it. What happens when the advertisers and spammers get hold of it? Also, all RSS items are essentially equal. How many ways can you currently categorize email?

GeoURL down, but not out…

For a while now, GeoURL has been returning a “down for renovations” message. I just checked with the maintainer, and he reports that he’s still working on the site: it’s not down for good.

If you haven’t run into the site before, it allows you to put your latitude/longitude on your web page, and it will catalog this and tell you who is near you.
