Bible Gateway

I’ve blogged it before, but it bears repeating: the Bible Gateway is an excellent site to use when you want to find out what a quote actually says, and if you want to see the different ways translators have worked with the same passage.

PhotoBlog

Thanks to Wil, I’ve created a photoBlog at Buzznet.com. So far, it’s blank, but when I get back to the computer with the pictures stored on it, I’ll be adding stuff.

Hope Eyrie music video

Leslie Fish’s song “Hope Eyrie”, in honor of the Apollo 11 mission, has recently been turned into a music video, complete with some NASA footage I hadn’t seen before. It’s linked from the page about To Touch the Stars, a CD of space-related music.

Another of the songs, “Fire in the Sky”, was quoted by Buzz Aldrin on national tv the day the Columbia fell.

Articles that come back to haunt me – so to speak

The other day, on User Friendly, I asked if anyone knew what the only Microsoft Knowledge Base article to “attempt to invoke the Elder Gods” was, referring to an article I had written a couple years back referencing Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos (and yes, I know he didn’t like it being called that). Since then, I’ve seen that link wandering around the net: on newsgroups, LiveJournals… I wonder how far it will go. :-)

Smart tax reform in Washington

David Goldstein, who ran the initiative last year to have Tim Eyman officially proclaimed a horse’s ass, is taking aim at another Eyman mistake. However, this time, instead of an ad hominem attack, he’s proposing a $30,000 Homestead Exemption, which will provide tax relief to the lower and middle classes, rather than cutting taxes across the board and taking huge chunks out of local budgets.

All right, I admit it…

I bought a box of cereal for the toy in the bottom.

Of course, the toy was actually a DVD of Barney Miller episodes, and the cereal was Total, so it was good for me on several levels. :-)
